Frequently Asked Questions

Divorce Coaching

Q: What is Divorce Coaching?

A: Divorce coaching is forward-focused support for the person you’re becoming; it is neither therapy nor legal advice. It’s for people who are stepping out of survival mode and into a space of clarity where they’re ready to explore what comes next. This might be when the dust has settled and papers are signed, or it could be while you’re still in the divorce process but emotionally ready to start envisioning your future. I help you reconnect with your values, explore your priorities, and create a ‘next chapter’ that genuinely excites you rather than one you just endure. It’s practical, grounded coaching for moving from surviving to thriving in your next chapter.

Q: I’ve been divorced for years. Is it too late to work with you?

A: Not at all! Some of my most transformative work happens with people who are years beyond their divorce but facing new transitions – empty nest, career changes, or simply realising they want more from life. There’s no expiry date on creating your meaningful next chapter.

Q: How is divorce coaching different from therapy?

A: Therapy typically focuses on processing past experiences and healing, while divorce coaching is forward-focused on exploring, setting, and achieving meaningful goals (even if you don’t yet know exactly what they are). I help you reconnect with your values, build confidence in decision-making, and design a life that genuinely excites you. We work on practical tools for moving from surviving to thriving.

Q: I completed the Collaborative Process and have clear goals for my future. How can you help me achieve them?

A: Having goals is fantastic – turning them into reality is where I come in. We’ll work on breaking down your goals into actionable steps, building the confidence and skills to pursue them, and navigating any obstacles that arise. Think of me as your accountability partner and guide for making those Collaborative Process goals a lived reality.

Q: What’s the investment for individual coaching?

A: Most individuals begin with an investment in sessions that span 2 – 3 months with coaching packages starting from AUD $1,500. Let’s chat about what’s right for you, and go from there.

Lawyer Wellbeing

Q: Why is lawyer wellbeing important?

A: In order to do well, a lawyer must first be well. When a lawyer is well, they are fully present in their practice – they enjoy it more, they’re able to be sustainable, and they can deliver their best work. The Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner recognises this through their Wellbeing Guidelines for Legal Workplaces, which highlight that improving lawyer wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility. It’s a win-win: better outcomes for the lawyer, better outcomes for their clients, and a healthier, more productive team around them. Poor wellbeing doesn’t just impact individual lawyers – it affects entire practices and the sustainability of the legal profession overall.

Q: I’m a lawyer experiencing burnout. How can you help specifically?

A: I offer individual wellbeing coaching designed specifically for legal professionals. I also provide team workshops and integrated programs focussing on sustainable practice, stress management, and building “presilience” (resilience before you need it). Having experienced burnout myself, I know the practical tools that actually work in high-pressure environments.

Q: Do you offer any workshops where my team can earn CPD points?

A: Yes! In particular, my “Mind Your Ethics” session focuses on how and why mindfulness practices can enhance ethical competencies. Other sessions focus on lawyer wellbeing and sustainable practice. I deliver workshops via lunch + learn sessions and half-day team retreats. Contact me to discuss CPD requirements and how my programs can meet your professional development needs.

Family Law Ecosystem

Q: How does the integrated family law ecosystem actually work?

A: I support  your wellbeing as legal professionals AND your clients’ emotional readiness to engage with legal processes. When clients get stuck in emotional overwhelm, can’t make decisions, or call for reassurance rather than legal advice, I provide professional divorce coaching. This frees you to focus on legal expertise while ensuring clients get appropriate emotional support.

Q: Do you coach our clients alongside our process, or external from it?

A: This is a lawyer-inclusive partnership that adds significant value to your existing practice. I work collaboratively with you, not as a separate service – unless you or your client prefer to. We maintain open communication and I support your legal objectives by helping clients become emotionally prepared to engage effectively with legal processes.

Q: How do you help with clients who can’t make decisions due to emotional overwhelm?

A: I provide values-based coaching that helps clients move from emotional paralysis to decision-ready clarity. Through neutral, professional support, I help them explore their core values (which drive behaviour) while providing neutral, emotional stability needed to engage productively with legal processes and make informed decisions.

Q: What if a client is stuck in ‘being right’ rather than seeking resolution?

A: This is exactly where my coaching shines. I help clients shift from reactive positioning to outcome-focused thinking by exploring their values, how they’re expressing them, and how their values are linked to their priorities. We work on understanding what they actually want to achieve (beyond being “right”) and how to channel their energy toward productive resolution rather than prolonged conflict.

General Questions

Q: Do you work Australia-wide or just locally?

A: I’m Melbourne-based and work with clients world-wide via video coaching sessions. I’m available for in-person workshops, training, and speaking engagements across the country, and globally. Location isn’t a barrier to getting the support you need.

Q: How do I know which path is right for me—individual coaching or the legal professional services?

A: If you’re personally navigating post-divorce life or transitions, the individual coaching path is for you. If you’re a legal professional seeking wellbeing support or integrated client services, the professional path is your focus. Not sure? Let’s have a conversation and I’ll help you determine the best fit.
